“Through a bill approved last week by the state Legislature, 10 acres at Mount Wachusett Community College [in Gardner, MA] will be leased to Veteran Homestead Inc. to create a rehabilitation and training center for injured veterans.

The bill was filed by State Sen. Stephen Brewer last year with a plan of constructing the Northeast Veteran Training and Rehabilitation Center and using the school’s recreational facilities and departments of physical and occupational therapy to provide medical, psychological, spiritual care and education to veterans who are diagnosed with terminal illness, are elderly and/or disabled, or otherwise in need.”
