Swords to Plowshares’ 1st Annual Veterans’ Job Fair was a Success!

Swords to Plowshares had a great turnout for their 1st Annual Veterans’ Job Fair.

ABC 7 News Reported: “There was a big turnout of veterans at a job fair in San Francisco which was specifically for them. Many say they served their country honorably, but the job market hasn’t treated them honorably.” See the video here.

One of the veterans featured in the video is currently working with Swords to get into housing, and many employers who watched the segment called Swords to Plowshares to offer him a position.

Important Upcoming Legislation

Jacob’s Light Foundation alerted us to a very important legislation that will be introduced on September 9th.

When a service member of veteran is buried at a National Cemetery their spouse or dependents is given the honor of being able to be buried alongside their loved one. However, many of the men and women who give the ultimate sacrifice do so without the love and support of children or spouses. Instead they leave behind mourning parents who should also be allowed the honor of burial alongside their loved one.
