National Military Family Association and Armed Services YMCA Selected for DoD Military Family Readiness Council





Last month, the Department of Defense (DoD) convened the Military Family Readiness Council (MFRC) that was mandated in the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).








The Council is comprised of

  1. The Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness
  2. One representative from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force who shall be appointed by the Secretary of Defense
  3. Three individuals appointed by the Secretary of  Defense from among representatives of military family organizations
  4. Senior enlisted advisors of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force, or the spouse of a senior enlisted members from each of the services

The National Military Family Association is pleased to have been selected as one of the military family organizations on the Council, along with the Armed Services YMCA and the National Association of Uniformed Services (NAUS).
