In honor and rememberence of those who have served, many of our Coalition organizations gathered with their communities for a day of mourning and reflection, spoke of the sacrifices of those who have served, gathered with those who have lost their loved ones, or shared their stories with the press of honoring those who are transitioning home from combat.

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 21-The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) applauds the passage of the Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act today in a unanimous vote by the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

A Lifeline for Military Families

On a crystalline Alaska morning in 1992, Bonnie Carroll still felt her husband’s kiss as Brig. Gen. Tom Carroll, 44, climbed aboard a plane for a routine trip. “He was the Army’s youngest general-handsome and charismatic,” she says. “I thought he’d live forever.”
