The Navy Times reported Thursday that veterans receiving new GI Bill benefits are reporting delays in receipt of their living stipend. The article raises concerns that these delays will drive many veterans to become discouraged and drop out of school.

According to Brian Hawthorne of Student Veterans of America, many veterans find that the emergency disbursement of $3,000 authorized by the VA earlier this year is failing to meet their needs.
