MOBILIZE.ORG ANNOUNCES GRANT TO REWARD MILLENNIAL VETERANS AND INVEST IN THEIR IDEAS

091013-N-9132C-008Mobilize.org is an organization striving to address local and national issues facing the Millennial generation – those born after 1975. Of the 2 million armed service personnel who have served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, over 1.25 million are Millennials. Recognizing this fact, Mobilize.org in partnership with the Goldhirsh Foundation, MTV, the McCormick Foundation and ServiceNation has announced a competition to award grants totaling $25,000 for veteran-led projects that address the needs of the returning Millennial veterans.

To better determine and understand those needs, Mobilize.org will hold a summit entitled Beyond the Welcome Home, in Los Angeles on April 1 – 3, 2010. The summit is to bring together 100 millennial veterans to discuss, debate and collaborate to propose veteran-led, veteran benefitting projects in their communities and on their campuses.

Applications for summit attendance and proposals for veteran-led projects can be submitted at Mobilize.org. The deadline to submit applications and proposals is Friday, February 19, at 11:59PM EST.
